Our Open Courses give you the opportunity to undertake learning away from the spotlight of your work environment. They allow you to explore, challenge and develop your own communication style in a safe, supportive, creative and fun environment.
WorkPlace Theatre is a combination of live performances mirroring reality, of difficult conversations or situations, and Forum Theatre, where you will help to change the behaviours of the characters in the scenes to try to get better outcomes to resolve the dilemmas.
We’ve created short plays around difficult workplace issues that, if they’re not talked about, will impact morale, and lower performance and engagement. Our programme has been designed to develop your ability to think and react on the spot, because this is how things can be in real-life, particularly in the area of difficult conversations. This also helps you to recognise what’s really going on in situations, to sense what’s not being said, building awareness of, and confidence in, your initial or gut reaction.
The two plays being performed are based on real life scenarios.
WORK AND WELL-BEING:
Develop an understanding of hidden disabilities and the impact these have on people’s WorkLives. Recognise the support needed to help people manage their growth and development.
MANAGING FLEXIBLE AND REMOTE WORKING:
Upwards Downwards Sideways
Speak up and express how you think or feel about something ensuring those you work with know what you want, and what you don’t want.
What you will learn:
- To sense what’s not being said, and recognise this is what the conversation needs to be about;
- To address the problem objectively, whether that’s your boss asking too much of you, a team member with a bad attitude, or a colleague continually undermining you;
- To develop the skills and courage to master sensitive conversations.
Who this is for:
Professionals who need to manage relationships and want to fine-tune their sense of awareness about the people and situations around them.
Benefits to You and Your Company:
This Open Course will help to:
- Navigate difficult situations with dignity for everyone impacted, opening the door to new levels of understanding, trust and collaboration;
- Develop a culture that takes a straightforward approach in enabling people to say what needs to be said;
- Ensure people feel confident that when speaking up, their voice will be heard.
To help you get the most from the course you will receive an exercise to help you prepare and to get into the best mindset.
Your Post-Course Commitment:
You bring back tools, techniques and confidence that comes from practical experience, and the knowledge that you’ve already applied your new skills in real workplace scenarios, together with a personalised action plan that will immediately impact your ability to have difficult conversations.
